Reel Film is an award-winning video and animation production company, currently in the process of recruiting a self-motivated, pro-active, and collaborative Business Development Manager to join the team here at Reel Film as we enter an exciting period of growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and business development within the video production industry. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and driving revenue growth.

This position reports to the Founder.

The role

  • Client Acquisition and Growth: Acquire new clients, grow existing accounts, and meet revenue targets on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Business Development Activities: Engage in pitching, networking, new business calls, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, marketing events, email marketing, conferences, tradeshows, and fostering agency relationships.
  • Quoting and Proposals: Prepare quotes and proposals for both speculative and firm opportunities, and negotiate with prospects to secure sales.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with our work.
  • Financial Collaboration: Work with finance to achieve client forecasts and growth ambitions, track client accounts, and upsell services.
  • Sales Strategy: Hit new business targets in line with our acquisition strategy, focusing on specific industries, job roles, and accounts.
  • CRM Management: Keep all activities and opportunities up to date in our CRM and come to sales meetings prepared with short and long-term prospects.
  • Opportunity Identification: Research and identify potential clients and business opportunities within the video production market.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
  • Project Involvement: Ensure the client’s voice is heard throughout the production process while leveraging the creativity of the production team.
  • Client Onboarding: Conduct client introduction workshops and ensure new clients understand our processes.
  • Client Experience: Deliver exceptional client experiences and continuously improve our account management systems.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience in agency client acquisition, production company, or similar.
  • Customer Service: Exceptional customer service and active selling skills.
  • Approach: Highly proactive and consultative customer approach.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all media channels.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and flexible in approach.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Work Attitude: Tenacious work attitude and a team-focused mentality.
  • Sales Targets: Ability to meet deadlines and achieve realistic sales targets.
  • Driving Licence: Full clean UK driving licence required.
  • Flexible Working Hours: Be comfortable with some unsociable working hours.
  • Negotiation: Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Client Relationships: Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of video production processes, industry trends, and market dynamics.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, goal-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team, entrepreneurial, proactive, keen to learn, resilient, and motivated by taking on more responsibility.
