Where should I film my video?
Location, location, location. In the film world we are always using terms such as 'when we get on location' and 'see you on location'. You can make a film literally anywhere and it is pivotal in deciding where to film certain videos.
It really comes down to what you are trying to say from your video - what message are you trying to send out? Who are you trying to attract? What do you want the viewer to go away with? Does it need some post-production animation adding afterwards?
I'm going to go through a few examples, explaining why we chose the location we did and then give you some tips for choosing the best places!
hope those case studies have given you some context to where certain videos could be filmed. Here are some of our top tips on where to film your videos if you are stuck:
1. Speak with your video production company
It might be the first film you have ever made and you are a bit lost. Any good video production company will have the answer though, in fact, they've probably been asked it before! To date (May 2016) We have worked on over 200 video projects, that has equated to around 400 locations across the UK - we probably know a place you can film your video - so just ask!
2. Push your brand
Your location can help you bush brand. If you have some internal wall branding - we can use that. We can also watermark videos, add logos to the start and end, add your company jingle, use your company colours. For example, if your company colour is red. Why not try film near something red?
3. Put it into context
Look at the video you are making and look to film somewhere relevant. A video about dogs shouldn't be filmed in an aquarium, for example. It's about making your location worthwhile and putting what you are trying to say into context.
