Using video to boost product features and educate users for the world's largest car-sharing marketplace
Project Objectives
Turo is the world's largest car-sharing marketplace and as part of their UK market expansion, they wanted to educate their hosts on some of their main product features.
This brief was designed to boost the host’s businesses and also provide more choice for Turo’s customers - a win-win all around.
With three hero hosts set for the screen, Turo wanted us to turn real stories into consumable narratives, using video production to enhance key messages and drive change among their community.
Our Solution
Our role on this production was location sourcing, storyboarding and end-to-end production.
With three locations across the country, we sourced sets that would suit the client and be representative of their host community.
Next, we took the key messages, crafted questions and storyboards that would bring the vision to life.
Three filming days later, including working with a local airport for drone permissions, we had the content to craft multiple edits that the Turo team could use for internal marketing to grow their business.
How can a marketplace use video to engage customers and drive feature adoption?
Use short videos to show hosts exactly what’s changing, why it benefits them and how to use it. Prioritise feature update videos, quick how-to walkthroughs and “best practice” clips that help hosts get more bookings and sales.
What types of videos work best to engage hosts on a marketplace platform?
The most effective formats are: new feature launch videos (30–90 seconds), how-to tutorials (step-by-step), host success stories and case studies as well as tip videos (improve listings, respond faster, increase conversions).
How do we optimise host-facing videos for SEO and search intent?
Build a dedicated page per topic (not just a social post) and target “how to” searches hosts actually use, like “how to [feature]” and “how to get more bookings on [marketplace].” Add a transcript, clear headings, and FAQ/Video schema so Google can index it properly.
